DESIGNER: HOK

ETFE FABRICATOR AND INSTALLER: Vector Foiltec

FACADE AREA: 60,000 SQF

MATERIAL: ETFE Panels and aluminum nodes

SCOPE: As part of this landmark project, Neme Design Studio provided advanced façade design consulting and 3D coordination modeling for the complex double-curved aluminum channels and unique connecting nodes of the ETFE roof system. Each node was one-of-a-kind, requiring precise digital modeling to achieve seamless integration.

Using CATIA / Digital Project, our team developed a custom script to calculate the mean plane between four converging channels, ensuring accurate geometry for assembly. This parametric façade modeling allowed for exact alignment and constructability of the system.

The 3D model was delivered to Vector Foiltec (the ETFE contractor) and served as a critical validation tool for Clark Construction and Buro Happold, the design team’s façade consultant. In addition, a second CATIA script automated the subdivision of each panel into 12 pieces, generating both fabrication drawings and precise quantity outputs.

Through this combination of façade engineering expertise, digital fabrication for architecture, and BIM coordination, Neme Design Studio ensured the project’s geometric accuracy and construction efficiency.
