SCOPE: Neme Design Studio collaborated with BA Collective to deliver a custom façade system inspired by the traditional masonry breeze blocks of Mexico City. To address the city’s seismic conditions, our team developed a self-supporting polymer concrete façade reinforced with steel inserts and mechanical attachments to manage both gravity and lateral loads. Full-scale seismic mock-ups were fabricated and tested at the Intertek facility in Mexico City, validating the system’s performance and confirming the feasibility of the detailing. This project highlights Neme Design Studio’s expertise as a façade consultant, integrating architectural vision with seismic performance and constructability.
