Ledger City Center
DESIGN ARCHITECT: Michel Rojkind and Callaghan Horiuchi + Marlon Blackwell Architects
INSTALLER: Harness Roofing
FABRICATOR METAL PANELS: Dissimilar Metal Design
FACADE AREA: 50,000 SQF
MATERIAL: Copper
SCOPE: Designed by AIA Gold Medalist Marlon Blackwell and featured in Architectural Record, the Ledger City Center stands out as the first bikeable building in the United States and a landmark in innovative façade design.
The building’s exterior features custom copper panels—wider than standard profiles and composed of numerous unique 3D geometries. As the façade consultant for the copper panel fabricator, Neme Design Studio developed the specialized profiles that enabled precise panel fabrication and seamless assembly. Each component was digitally tagged with a unique identifier to streamline fabrication, shipping, and on-site installation.
To ensure accuracy and constructability, a full-scale visual mock-up was built on site, validating the detailing and guiding installation sequencing. This project demonstrates our expertise in complex geometry façade design, fabrication support, and constructability consulting.
